Looking for the best Steakhouse in Denver?

First of all, when you think of a steak house, you think of dark wood, low lighting, dark furniture and well… just everything very dark and old. When you walk into Guard and Grace on the other hand, you’ll walk into a spacious, ultra modern, bright and open floor plan that gets you excited just by looking at it. It is truly the best steakhouse in Denver! And in addition to offering great steaks, they also have wonderful seafood dishes. And as a result of their reputation, the restaurant is always full.

Beautiful decor…

I love the variety of tables and chairs.  There are a combination of booths, square, rectangular and round tables in black and brown with a mixture of chair styles that complement the tables they surround. There’s even counter space seating where you can watch the kitchen staff prepare the wonderful dishes on the menu. 

Cuisine dujour…

Opting for a counter seat, I got the chef’s personal recommendations on which dishes they were most proud of.

Chef’s first course recommendation was the Sashimi grade tuna. Made with fresh jalapeno, soy based ponzu, bonito flakes and black lava salt with black sesame seeds, this dish was a delight! Most noteworthy, up until this point, my exposure to anything raw had been extremely limited indeed. Because of the caliber of this restaurant and the chef’s rather eloquent description of the dish, I decided to give it a try. It was absolutely amazing! Between flavour and texture, I was in heaven.

For my second course, truffled gnocchi and trio of filets. The grass fed filet trimmed with their signature roasted carrot was spectacular! When you close your eyes and hear the phrase; “cuts like buttah”, this dish comes to mind. 

A frothy cappuccino put the finishing touch on a fabulous dining experience.
